About Me

Hello! I'm Michael Okoko, a passionate and driven individual with a background in Computer Science and Biological Sciences. Originally from Windsor, Ontario, I'm on a journey to become a well-versed analyst.

My academic journey began at the University of Windsor, where I pursued a Bachelor of Science with Honours Thesis in Biological Sciences. Building upon this foundation, I continued my education to earn a Bachelor of Computer Science, enhancing my problem solving and programming abilities.

My technical skill set includes proficiency in Python, Excel, SQL, Java, and more, along with expertise in data visualization tools like PowerBI. I have a keen attention to detail and strong communication skills, which allow me to effectively analyze complex datasets and communicate insights to diverse audiences.

In terms of work experience, I've served as a Sales Lead at Champs Sports, where I utilized PowerBI to monitor key performance indicators and implemented strategies to drive sales growth. As well as strengthen interpersonal skills, in providing customer service. Additionally, my role as a Cancer Research Assistant at the University of Windsor is where I discovered my fascination for using data to solve problems as well as visualize it to tell a story. I’ve presented findings at several conferences such as McMaster Ontario Biology Day 2021 and WCRG conference 2020 and have two publications (linked below).

As I continue to grow and develop my skills in data analysis and science, I am excited about the opportunities to make meaningful contributions in the field and tackle complex challenges through data-driven insights!
